Food Aid

North Korea

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) has suffered from a food shortage since the early 1990s, which became severe after the flooding in the mid 1990s.   The government of North Korea has practiced food rationing since the early days of the regime but this system failed drastically after the disaster caused an estimated 3.5 million people to die of starvation.  As a result, the regime started to accept foreign food aid and continues to depend heavenly on the foreign aid.

In response to this crisis we have raised up our own NGO to help alleviate this hunger, and we are working strategically to distribute food to the hands of North Koreans. To date, we have delivered 45+ tons of food aid, and are continuing to our work in this area.
